Mr Alex Watson is fully UK trained and on the Specialist Register as a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. He graduated from St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School with honours in 1995 after completing a degree in Pharmacy at King’s College, London. His training in orthopaedics and trauma continued as a Specialist Registrar at the Royal London Hospital and its rotation in and around North East London.

Mr Watson went on to complete three Fellowships – a Foot and Ankle Fellowship alongside Mr Lloyd Williams in London, and two Hip and Knee Arthroplasty (joint replacement) Fellowships in Sydney. With this wealth of experience he was appointed as a Consultant Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow in 2006 and has developed a large Foot and Ankle practice as well as managing acute trauma.

Mr Watson is actively engaged in ongoing research and has many peer reviewed publications. He teaches on and attends courses regularly and keeps in touch with the latest developments in his field. Outside work, Mr Watson is married to a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon and has a young family. They are keen runners, scuba divers and ski/snowboarders. Mr Watson is a Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman to the Society of Apothecaries.

Mr Watson offers surgical interventions for a wide range of foot, ankle and knee pathologies and through his practices at The Rivers, Holly House and the London Independent he is ideally placed to coordinate the multidisciplinary surgical or conservative management of your particular condition.
